Pickerman's Soup & Sandwich Reviews
The sweetest folks run this place. I'm obsessed with the veggie sandwich, the marinated tomatoes and dill cream cheese are what dreams are made of. I always get the Rialto salad as a side, super yummy and fresh. Love their dressing. Top off your lunch with a piece of sopapilla cheesecake, delicious!
Always a place for a great sandwich or bowl of soup. I work in the area and this is definitely my lunch spot. I have yet to have a sandwich I did not like. You'll need to vet the meatball yourself because I just don't do meatball subs, but I hear from very reliable sources that they're excellent. Soups are handmade in house from scratch. No bad soups here friends, all house recipes. The tomato vegetable soup is phenomenal. You may not like tomato soup but trust me on this one, you'll like theirs. Another favorite of mine is the chicken gumbo which typically shows up on Thursdays. There's so much going on with a bite of this soup you can't lose. Staff here are a fantastic couple that have been here for twenty something years. Always friendly and inviting. I've never seen the place a mess and service is fast and accurate. So for your next lunchtime outing grab a Big Guy (my favorite sandwich), a cup of gumbo, and maybe a bag of chips. Add a drink if you're thirsty. It'll make your day. Additionally, the Reuben isn't bad either...:)
The soft, fresh bread rolls here are top notch!!! And the mom and pop service is so friendly and welcoming. The shop has a lot of tables but is very dated. The sandwich I had was the Numero Uno, their take on the Italian. It was a very simple take on it and tasted okay. I didn't get to try the tomato bread reviewers rave about. My choice was between wheat or white. Sandwich had a high bread to fillings ratio. The meat flavors were average which was expected for the price, and there was no pepperoni which is a mistake imo. Overall it was on the small side, would be a light lunch, but not bad for only $4.99. I also had a 50 cent piece of their perfectly made corn bread, I just wish they had provided some honey butter with it. I have yet to try their soups or salads. Ice cream freezer was empty, and I didn't ask if they still serve it. Sign outside says they do. If I make it back down this way any time soon I will try more and update my review. Until then, the sandwich is a 3..The bread rolls, corn bread and service an easy 5 stars.
If you've never eaten there you are missing out. I so wish they were here in Lawton. I have never had such soft and tasty bread--anywhere. I could not believe they actually made it there. I had soup and sandwich. It wa so good The man and woman that owned this. They were the sweetest people. So nice, easygoing. Just down home type Clean shop. Not big, but nice and definitely friendly. He knows his regulars! You must try it--at least one. I bet you'll become a regular after that
My family was getting hungry and asked me to check my trusty Yelp and see what I can find. This popped up and had great reviews. We love mom and pop places so we decided here. I wasn't eating so they picked out what they wanted. Numero Uno and a Club sandwich. Service was fast and so friendly. They devoured the sandwiches and said they were delicious. If we lived in the area we would definitely become regulars.
